Thank You, Gallatin: Powering Progress Together

Thank You, Gallatin: Powering Progress Together

Nov 19, 2025

This November, as we gather around tables and reflect on what we’re thankful for, one thing rises to the top of our list: You, our customers.

Because of you, Gallatin Department of Electricity gets to do what we love every day. We get to serve this growing community with safe, reliable power and a commitment that runs far deeper than the lines and poles you see around town.

When we flip the switch, it’s easy to take light for granted. But behind every watt are people—engineers, lineworkers, and customer service representatives—who care deeply about this community. Our work is powered by your trust, and that trust inspires us to keep getting better.

This month, we celebrated our new building and the continued expansion of Gallatin’s electric system. Growth brings challenges, but it also brings purpose. Every new home, every small business, every classroom using power today represents the future we’re building together. Our engineers and operations teams are using advanced technology, including SCADA systems that allow remote monitoring of substations, to ensure that reliability keeps pace with that growth.

We’re also thankful for partnerships that strengthen our community. From supporting R.T. Fisher Alternative School in TVA’s School Uplift program to sponsoring local contests and food drives, GDE employees are proud to serve beyond their daily work. That service mindset is part of who we are, neighbors helping neighbors.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the people behind every account. Whether you’ve been with us for decades or just moved to Gallatin, thank you for being part of the public power story. Your support allows us to reinvest right here at home by upgrading substations, improving safety, and keeping rates affordable for everyone.

From all of us at GDE: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the privilege of powering your homes and businesses. Together, we’re lighting the way for Gallatin’s future.
